Bio

Teng Teng is a PhD candidate and research fellow in the Department of Architecture at the Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania, expecting his PhD in Dec 2025. He holds dual MS degrees in Matter Design Computation (Cornell) and Design Computing (University of Washington), as well as a B.Arch (Shanghai University). His interdisciplinary work integrates design, advanced manufacturing, structural engineering, mechatronics, robotics, and material sciences to create sustainable products, minimize waste, reduce carbon footprints, and enhance performance. He advances computational tools and fabrication systems and has served as a research associate at Jenny Sabin’s Lab (Cornell) and a faculty member at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Art (SIVA). With over a decade of teaching experience at institutions including UPenn, Cornell, UW, Shanghai University, Tongji University, and SIVA, he has led courses on design computation, robotics, and fabrication worldwide. Previously, he practiced as an architecture professional, delivering across-scale projects as a project architectural designer and computational design leader across Asia, the Middle East, and North America.
